A Guide To The Best Chia Pudding Recipes

Chia seeds are the latest power-food that is increasingly becoming popular not just as a healthy snack but also as a popular breakfast option. A lot of its popularity can be owed to the possibilities of add-ons that can be incorporated in a chia seed pudding and unlike usual healthy options, chia seed pudding is surprisingly healthy. And what’s more ? You can prep it overnight for breakfast and there’s no cooking involved. Chia seeds are known to be a rich source of healthy omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, iron, and calcium.

Important Notes:

  • The chia seeds to milk ratio is important to get a pudding consistency.
  • Add- ons should be added just before consumption, especially ones which are likely to go soggy.
  • Mixing the chia seeds mixture intermittently is a good idea.
  • Milk and Sweetners can be switched according to your taste.
  • Avoid adding citrus fruits into chia pudding as it may lead to curdling of milk.
  • Easy 3 Ingredients Chia Seed Pudding

Ingredients:

Chia Seeds – 4 tbsp

Milk (Almond Milk is a good option) – 1 cup

Sweetener ( Honey is a good option) – As per your taste

Fruits, Nuts or Dry Fruits (Optional)

Directions:

Take a jar with a lid and pour the milk into it. Next add, the chia seeds and give it a good stir. After 2-3 mins, stir it again, make sure there’s no clumping. Add sweetener of your choice or you can skip it and just enjoy it with the sweetness that fruits will lend. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 3 hours or overnight. Add the fruits just before you are going to consume it.

  •  Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding

Who said you can’t have chocolate for breakfast, bust the myth by trying this recipe for breakfast.

Ingredients:

Cocoa Powder (unsweetened) – ¼ Cup

Milk – 1 ½ Cup

Chia Seeds – ½ Cup

Sweetener of your Choice – as per taste

Salt – 1 pinch

Vanilla Extract – ½ tsp

Directions:

In a container with a lid, add cocoa, sweetener, salt and vanilla extract and give it good whisk, slowly add the milk, whisking after each addition and avoiding formation of any clumps. After all the milk has been added, add the chia seeds and again whisk it well. Cover the container and refrigerate for 3 hours. It helps to whisk the mixture after 1 hour of refrigeration.

  • Chia Seed Pudding with Oats

Ingredients:

Chia Seeds – 4 tbsp

Milk (Almond Milk is a good option) – 1 ¼ cup

Oats – ¼ Cup

Sweetener ( Honey is a good option) – As per your taste

Directions:

Take a mason jar and pour the milk into it, add oats and whisk it well. Next add the chia seeds and give it a good stir. Add any sweetener of your choice or you can skip it and just enjoy it with fruits or nuts. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 3 hours or overnight. Add the fruits just before you are going to consume it.

  • Chia Seed Pudding with Yoghurt

Ingredients:

Mango Flavoured Yoghurt – ½ Cup

Milk – ½ Cup

Chia Seeds – 2 tbsp

Oats/ Granola – ¼ Cup

Mango – ¼ cup

Directions:

Add the yoghurt and milk in a mason jar and whisk the mixture until well incorporated. Add the chia seeds and stir it well into the mixture. Refrigerate it overnight and stir intermittently to avoid clumping. In the morning, whisk it well again to break lumps. Top it with pieces of mango and granola.

Note : You can also use other flavours of yoghurt like strawberry or blueberry and add fruit which goes with the flavoured yoghurt.

  • Chia Seed Pudding with Dry fruits

Ingredients

Chia Seeds – ½ Cup

Milk – 2 Cups

Dates ( pitted) – 10

Raisins – ¼ Cup

Almonds – ¼ Cup

Cashew Nuts – ¼ Cup

Honey – as per taste

Directions:

Add milk into a jar and then add the chia seeds, whisk it well. Next chop the dry fruits into smaller pieces and add to chia seeds mixture. Whisk it well. Finally add honey or sweetener of your choice and give it one final whisk. Refrigerate the mixture overnight. In the morning, whisk the mixture well, if you like pudding to have a bite, you can have it as is or use a blender to blend the mixture to a smooth creamy texture. You can add toppings of your choice.

  • Chia Seed Pudding with Peanut Butter

Ingredients

Milk – 1 cup

Chia Seeds – 3 tbsp

Honey – 1 tbsp

Peanut Butter – 2 tbsp

Vanilla Extract – ¼ tsp

Directions:

In a mason jar with a lid, pour the milk and add chia seeds. Whisk the mixture well. Next add honey, peanut butter and vanilla extract. Whisk the mixture until the peanut butter is fully incorporated. Leave the mixture on the counter for 5 minutes and whisk it again. Refrigerate the mixture overnight and whisk it intermittently. Before consuming, you can add banana slices, berries and a pinch of cinnamon.
